Photography Studio Rental: Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Yaletown/Downtown

The 2010 Winter Olympics are soon going to be arriving in our lovely city of Vancouver. Since our studio is right in the hub of all the downtown/yaletown area, only a half block from BC place and another few steps to GM Place (or “Canada Hockey Place” as I hear it will be renamed for the games), we’re thinking that our area is going to be quite busy during those few weeks the games are here and a perfect location for someone who needs to be shooting in studio during that time.

So, here’s the plan:
We’d like to rent our live/work studio out to a photographer that needs a place to shoot and since the studio has full living amenities, possibly even live, right in the heart of the Olympic action downtown. Preferably renting it for week long chunks, or the whole 2-3 weeks (or more) at once if someone needs the space the whole time. At this point, we’re pretty flexible. All we ask is that the renter has the appropriate insurance. We’ve got photos covering every inch of the studio so you can get a great idea of the layout, but here are also some details that the photos wouldn’t show.

Studio Details:
We’ve got photos covering every inch of the studio so you can get a great idea of the layout, but here are also some details that the photos wouldn’t show.

- Legal Live/Work space.
- 1200 sqft studio space (not including lofts).
- 2 lofts great for storage or even a bed so your living area doesn’t get in the way of shooting.
- 12ft ceilings.
- Main floor entrance.
- Urban Industrial Style.
- Great Cafe right next door with a huge variety of meals, soup, coffee and snacks.
- Starbucks and 7-11 convenience store (24hrs) right across the street.
- Only a few steps to BC Place Stadium and a few more to GM Place Stadium.
- Cargo bay door opens directly onto your parking spot in the service alley.
- Secure building entrance and monitored security system in the studio.
- Lots of large windows on the cargo bay door wall which let in a great amount of natural light. Soft reflected light in the morning and early afternoon. Direct sunlight in the afternoon.
- Hot water radiators keep the studio very warm in the winter and if it is a hotter day we do have two AC units available.
- A large variety of lighting equipment to cover almost any size shoot (email us for details).
- Our exact address is 857 Beatty Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Inquiries and Rates:
Anyone interested, please inquire with us with the dates you’d like to reserve the studio and we’ll get back to you to discuss the rental rates. You can reach us Monday to Friday in any of the following ways:
phone: (604) 669-7577
toll free:  1 (866) 669-7573
email: info@kevinclarkstudios.com

Why don’t we want to be in the studio during the Olympics?
Well since we shoot mainly actor headshots and food photography, we’d don’t expect that we’ll be able to benefit fully from this great location. In fact with how busy the area will be, it may be difficult for our usual clients to get to us. But another photographer that has clients already involved in the Olympics will be a perfect fit. They might even be another local photographer that just wants to get closer to the action.

Studio Photos:
And without further delay, here are photos covering all aspects of our studio from the front entrance to the back service alley.

Behind the Studio in the service alley. Shared with a storage company and a few other companies, it’s kept clean, is always bustling and quite frankly the nicest alley in Vancouver.

We’re really hoping that our photography studio rental can be of great help to any photographer that needs a space to shoot during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games next year in Vancouver. As mentioned, we’re quite flexible with booking times at this point, so contact us anytime and we’ll figure out the details.
